Maine College of Art moved into the Porteous building in 1993. The lower level was never repurposed, and has just been used for storage all these years. Now, working with Dan Crewe of the Bob Crewe Foundation, we are designing a space in which a new area of study - the intersection between music and art - can be explored.
The lower level will house a gallery, a photo shooting studio, a classroom, performance and recording studios, and ancillary spaces. We are thrilled, and will be posting progress. Stay tuned!
